Hello, I’m Ada. I’m about to grow this blog as tech blog.
Some WordPress Security Tip
September 18, 2008I am not an expert blogger, nor expert in security issues. Many times before, the experience of being hacked especially our beloved blog gives us the feeling of anxiety. These tips arise based from my experience and research from other forums and blogs and might help to prevent kiddos playing your Wordpress Blog.
1. Always patch your wordpress with fresh new files in your FTP to overwrite the injected codes.
2. Try to deactivate and delete plugins that are not that useful or rarely used.
3. Always patch your plugins and update it if there’s new version.
4. Check the CHMOD if some php are writable and executable.
5. Check your PhpmyAdmin idatabase if there are unusual tables. Usual tables are:
- wp_comments
- wp_links
- wp_options
- wp_postmeta
- wp_posts
- wp_term_relationships
- wp_term_taxonomy
- wp_terms
- wp_usermeta
- wp_users
You can drop an unusual table/s (Backup first).
6. Repair your DB.
7. Are updating your wordpress by the use of Fantastico? Fantastico might some have security problems.
Most important is to always upgrade your WordPress into new version!
